Film music is an increasingly popular area in academic studies and research. The first important academic book on film music was Claudia Gorbman's Unheard Melodies: narrative film music (1987) and since then the field has grown considerably. At the moment, there is comparatively little corresponding study being done on television music, but in the last few years, papers have started to appear on music in TV series such as Ally McBeal and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The links here provide details of my published work in this area and links to online articles; details of conference papers, with abstracts and, in some cases, links to the papers themselves; details of projects I'm currently working on; and some additional, more general resources. |
